Be A Host City
The Waterfront Film Festival’s purpose has always been to economically and artistically benefit the entire West Michigan region, as well as to showcase all that the area has to offer, including it scenic beauty, wonderful people. and relaxed way of life. There are many great vacation destinations in West Michigan and we would love our audiences and visiting artists to experience them all!
To apply to host a Waterfront Film Festival in your community, please complete and submit the Host City Application.
Waterfront would almost always remain happening in June. Ultimately, it will depend on scheduling in each community, which will be finalized about 1 year in advance to allow ample time for residents and businesses to take advantage of the positive economic impact that accompanies the Festival being held in their town.
Decisions will be based on enthusiasm, resources, and capital commitments.
We depend on our volunteers to make each event a success. We need more great volunteers like you so that we have more hands available to help promote and coordinate various aspects of the events on a year round basis, as well as sell tickets in the weeks prior, and assist with set-up and break down. Please share the news and the need with a friend. Your time is greatly appreciated!!
The Waterfront organization has several exciting internship positions available throughout the year. We offer a wide variety of opportunities to fit with your goals and educational desires/needs. We work with colleges for credited internships, however, we do not require that it be an internship for credit. We work with all majors including, but not limited to, film, communications, hospitality management, computer science, and business.
As a previous intern said, "Working with the Film Festival was unique because, as I learned, it is very much like producing a movie, yet it also involves the various aspects of running a company and event planning. Plus, I met a lot of great people and was able to network with filmmakers during the festival, which was a big bonus of this internship."
