While remaining committed to celebrating the Independent Filmmaker and promoting their works of art, the Waterfront organization has restructured its operations.  The non-profit has transitioned from hosting an annual 4-day festival to operating a new year-round hub known as the Waterfront Film Studio - a screening and event facility created to offer a supportive venue for independent filmmakers, creative causes and non-profits to showcase their film and digital media projects and events.
Building off Waterfront's recognized hospitality, fun, and high quality events that made the Film Festival amazingly successful, the future of Waterfront involves strategic partnerships with other organizations, filmmakers and artists to create opportunities to further our mission of raising awareness for art, education and philanthropic endeavors through the magic of film.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Waterfront Film Studio Open House!

June 8, 2018

Thank you to everyone who attended the Waterfront Film Studio Open House! It was a great turnout with many event planners, past volunteers, and Festival Fans.

If you were unable to attend the Open House, below is more information about the facility.
The new venue, on Columbia Avenue near downtown Holland, features a versatile space that can be used as a 125-seat theater or as an event space. The building, a renovated auto-body shop, also serves as WFF headquarters and offices. Waterfront organizers spent much of the past two years revamping the industrial site into a multi-purpose studio with large garage doors that roll up to create a unique indoor/outdoor gathering space. Plans for phase II of the project include an update to the building façade and landscaping for an outdoor seating and reception area.
The redesign was made possible by a matching grant awarded by the Michigan Council for Arts & Cultural Affairs. The non-profit organization restructured its operations, transitioning from an annual 4- day festival toward individual screenings at the new permanent facility capable of offering year round events. The space will also be available for rental for corporate events, weddings and other gatherings.
