Jason (Jesse James) and Kyle (Reiley McClendon), recent friends from different sides of the track, become embroiled in the adventure of thier lives when they discover a mysterious airplane at the local small-town airport. The boys sneak aboard the plane for a look, but are forced to hide in the luggage compartment when two strange men show up. Soon Jason and Kyle unexpectedly find themselves airborne over the open Arizona desert. After hours in the air, the boys unwittingly uncover a bomb in the luggage compartment. When they burst into the cabin to report thier discovery, they find that everyone on board has bailed out. The boys must take the controls and land the plane themselves. But their troubles are only beginning as Jason and Kyle realize that they've foiled a heist to steal millions of dollars from the mob in this high-action, coming-of-age film.
Rocco DeVilliers Being the multi-faceted creative force behind THE FLYBOYS is nothing unusual for filmmaker Rocco DeVilliers. As a youth his early projects won local and regional awards, including Bounding Overwatch, a forty-five minute action war-drama short he wrote, directed, and produced.
His first full-length feature as a student filmmaker was the action drama Pure Race, a story of two young adults-one black, the other white-who while traveling cross-country encounter a camp of white supremacists in rural Idaho. The film showcased DeVilliers' talents as director, producer, co-writer, cinematographer, stunt coordinator/stuntman, and editor on the film, and he even managed to make a brief appearance as one of the central character's roommates.
With a strong technical knowledge in post-production, DeVilliers has edited many feature films-including Cowboys and Angles, directed by Gregory C. Haynes, his collaborator on the story for THE FLYBOYS.
