Lush swampland and towering pine trees surround the town of Blackwater, Texas, sheltering its secrets from the outside world.

Life is good for the musically talented Jimmy Wayne Collins, who plans on becoming the next big country music star out of Blackwater, Texas. Jimmy and his older brother, Kyle, are reared under the watchful eye of their father, local Sheriff Pete Collins.  Kyle, Jimmy, and their friends form a collective group infamously known around Blackwater as "The Boys."

One fate-filled night, "The Boys" push too far and the bonds of family and friendship will be tested and the consequences will haunt the promising star.

Four years later, Jimmy sits staring at the bottom of a bottle with little more than the distant memories of stardom. With fragmented friendships, an imprisoned brother and a terminally ill father, Jimmy returns to Blackwater to right the wrongs of the past. Caught in the undertow of his life, he is forced to sink or swim.
