M.J. Clayton is a heartless Art Critic in Chicago. Needing a break he takes a vacation to Mackinac Island. By chance there is an art festival there and because of his notoriety, Clayton is shocked to find himself involved. It appears that his connection to the national art scene makes him some kind of a local hero. Then he makes an insane proclamation that any idiot can create art. This doesn't go well. M.J. Clayton eventually discovers the hard way that the ability to create art is indeed a gift and that he is not among the chosen few.
