WINNER - WORLD COMEDY INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, TORONTO |
Based on the hilarious award winning hit play that broke box-office records across North America, The Wild Guys is a crowd-pleaser with heart. A non-stop two day misadventure begins when four middle-aged “city-slickers” – Randall, Andy, Stewart and Robin – all modern men for whom hunting and gathering means looking in the produce section of a grocery store, take to the wilderness for a relaxing weekend in the woods. Their only guide is Stewart, who turns out to be in need of some guidance himself, and the guys quickly find themselves lost. Without food or shelter, their hike takes on a deeper meaning as they argue and cope with life-threatening dangers. One uproariously bad thing happens after another as the men are stalked by man and beast alike. With a comedic stand-out performance by Jackson Davies, The Wild Guys sneaks up on us and pulls us into some more emotional territories where we did not expect to go. But in the end, the men come to terms with their blind spots, bald spots, and that deeply hidden spot of fear within themselves.--Emily Madison, Waterfront Film Festival William F.
