The most digits of pi recited from memory is 67,890. The most basketballs spun simultaneously is 28. The fastest mile on a kangaroo ball is 15:03 . The question is, why?! What is it that drives people to break Guinness World Records? 'Breaking and Entering' documents the lives of three would-be record-holders and dozens of current and past record-holders during their extraordinary record attempts. We follow their daily lives, get insights from family and friends, and watch them prepare for and take their shot at breaking the old records and entering that elite group of phone-book rippers, finger-snappers, and human cannonballs.
Benjamin Fingerhut Benjamin Fingerhut’s story-telling career began in 1st grade at Hamilton Elementary where he won a city-wide poetry contest with his limerick “There Once Was a Bear That Flew.” He honed his skills and eventually earned a writing degree from DePauw University. A few years later he wrote and directed his first feature film, Down into Happiness, the story of a driver’s ed teacher who finds happiness when he discovers his talent for ketchup drinking, placed 2nd in the inaugural 72 Hour Feature Project. Benjamin went on to write several screenplays, most notably The Bend, the story of a rag tag group of 30-somethings who try to kidnap the Mayor of South Bend, IN, which was a finalist in the 2006 Waterfront Screenwriting Competition.
