Americana tells the story of Darryl, a brilliant yet introverted engineer who is obsessed with the need to build a mysterious vessel. No longer able to reach him, his girlfriend Kyleen has given Darryl one last chance to salvage their relationship - he must let her into his world or say goodbye. When he takes her to a local diner in the middle of nowhere one night, he decides to reveal his secret dream in the hopes it will persuade her to stay.
